But what became clear in the next three and a half years is that Obama remains something of an obsession for Trump; the subject of a political and personal inferiority complex.

Barack Obama is not a shuck and jive person of color, and those are the kinds of people that Donald Trump seems to be attracted to if you look at who he surrounds himself with as far as minorities are concerned.
Third, Setmayer points to the 2011 White House Correspondents Association dinner, where Trump sat stony-faced and humiliated as Obama lampooned the Celebrity Apprentice hosts nascent political ambitions. Obama even pointed to a photoshopped image of a Trump White House with hotel, casino, golf course and gold columns.
A lot of people think that this is where this all started, Setmayer continued. President Trump does not have a sense of humor, hes not self-deprecating, and the White House correspondents dinner is a fun event where people make fun of each other, especially in politics.

(12,712 posts)When your term of office is both destructive and substance-less, what is there left to do?
He has had plenty of help with the destruction, but since this is all about what I consider to be trivial personal issues that he uses the office to advance, obsession with that makes sense.
I would like the next President to be actually focused on the idea of being a public servant FIRST and a leader second while showing the necessary, professional capacity to actually put personal issues aside as much as possible for the good of the citizens and the country.
Is that too much to ask?

(86,872 posts)and places where he'll see it, need to call him WEAK, and directly imply that he is stupid, all the time now. And Obama should put out a critique at least once a week and spread it everywhere. The orangeanus will surely die in a fit of rage.
ETA: Better still, Obama could give brief conlaw lessons explaining the illegality of this admin.

(43,632 posts)Makes you wonder if Obama ever, even the slightest, wonders if that triggered Rump to run, even just a wee bit. It is like a real life horror story of irony. It certainly helps drive his hatred, although Trumps pure race hatred and utter inadequacy is at its core.

(164 posts)Folks,
People often remark that Trump can say anything he likes, but there is one word that I have not heard from him, either verbally or in a tweet.
Apologies for referring to it myself. It is the 'N' word.
I'm just reading a literary classic by Doris Lessing, about life in South Africa. It is called 'The Grass is Singing' and as I read the painful pages, well...........

(38,187 posts)I love it that he cannot handle how much we love Obama. I love how it makes him obsessed. If he is obsessed and cannot concentrate or function, there is less damage he can do to our country. Let him stay busy on Twitter and maybe we can mitigate some of the damage he might would do between now and January.
