(58,785 posts)relatively large in this era of razor thin majorities. But, as the data show, it's actually small enough that not all that many need to come around to turn 2016's large older-voter minority into a whole new majority.

(43,393 posts)Older folks supposed to have wisdom from a life well lived. They can be duped but the slow realization of truth emerges. They have the experience and internal balance and fortitude to admit they were in error, and to change direction. Sounds complicated but I think that's what's happening.

(45,580 posts)because lower income people die younger, often because of inability to pay for adequate health care so they put off getting treatment until it's too late.

(4,379 posts)Older Americans listen to their doctors. What their doctors are telling them about the virus does not match what Trump is telling them. Trump will lose that game.

(2,227 posts)Let's see (this is not MY personal experience, but), "my" lifetime investments have been going gangbusters, especially lately (other than the little virus "hickup" ), but nursing homes and assisted living facilities residents are dropping like flies, which doesn't really affect me because I live in an upscale retirement community (like those in Florida and Arizona) with ALL the amenities... I'm living the golden life, surrounded by like minded folk who value $$$ above all else...
Decisions, decisions.
I do hope they have rethought their approach to voting, but when the going gets tough and the tough get going (to the aforementioned retirements meccas), bottom line, money always talks loudest.
If those aforementioned retirement meccas become the new hot spots for the virus, THEN they may change who they support. The turd's incompetence in handling the pandemic may eventually outweigh the $$$ signs from wall street.
That may be happening, but sometimes it does take a 2 by 4 upside the head to get one's attention.
