https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/18/politics/trump-us-death-toll-blame-reopen/index.htmlAzar appeared to indicate that the inequities in the US health system, especially involving minorities, were to blame for the level of fatalities in the United States and said the administration had forged a "historic result" in preventing the pandemic from overwhelming the capacity of hospitals.
"Unfortunately the American population is ... very diverse," Azar told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union."
"It is a population with significant unhealthy comorbidities that do make many individuals in our communities, in particular African American, minority communities particularly at risk here because of significant underlying disease health disparities and disease comorbidities -- and that is an unfortunate legacy in our health care system that we certainly do need to address."
Gee Alex, why not just say it's those damn non-Aryans and be done with it?

(22,508 posts)number of deaths! Azar hid under Tapper's bringing up that we have the highest number of cases by saying that we did the most testing....bullshit.
How do you explain that we have the most number of deaths! (I think 30% also)

(146,339 posts)are people who were in nursing homes and other congregate living facilities. Most are over 80 years old.
Azar apparently considers old people to be an unhealthy minority. He's right, but I don't think that's what he meant. I think he was talking about the "others" in our society. The ones who look different from white people, you know.
As he said, "Unfortunately, the American population is...very diverse." Sounds like he'd like a more homogeneous population of white people under the age of 70.
