(10,499 posts)I cannot see those officers being able to stay on the NOLA force now that the Defense Bar knows their testimony can now be impeached in every case.

(10,499 posts)There will be no prosecution because the local DA cannot afford to alienate the police force. We need special prosecution offices in each state, fully staffed, to only investigate and prosecute police malfeasance/crimes. They would not have the conflict of interests typical with the local DA's. If we did this the police would think twice before violating citizen's civil rights since there would be a good chance they would be arrested and imprisoned.

(14,861 posts)Not a one of them said to the others, "Hey guys, this isn't right, we shouldn't be doing this." All of them were willing to conspire and to fabricate evidence. All of them were willing to commit perjury. And we're supposed to believe they are "just a few bad apples".
