This is a fascinating tweet--especially after I posted a joke about that thing's posture.

Here's my earlier post: https://democraticunderground.com/10181362844

See anyone you know? This pic was part of a lecture given in 1888 by Jean-Martin Charcot a renowned French neurologist & professor of anatomical pathology. He was noting precise differences & characteristics of the PSP form of Frontotemporal Dementia even b4 it had it's own name.

Assuming a wide angle lens, the angle of the Washington Monument can't be used to indicate plumb (line perpendicular to level), but the Marine standing by the helicopter is nearly in the center of the frame and yet he's not plumb. The photo needs to be rotated a few degrees counter-clockwise.

That particular photo pops up a lot and it bugs me that it has both the distortion caused by the lens and it has a slight clockwise rotation to it. (Yes, I realize it was a press photo and not a formal portrait, but there are supposed to be people back at the 'news room' to correct things like that).

Even if the rotation were corrected, the Grotesque Orange Pustule would still be standing in an unnatural way. He's just not right.

It is a standard wide angle lens (24or 28mm maybe?). Why would you want to correct the "rotation" of the photo? It looks like a fair representation of what was going on. I don't see it as "distorted".

On the other hand, kudos to the photographer for stabbing the Covidiot in the heart with the helicopter blade.

Rotating that counter-clockwise until the W. Monument is plumb causes the SS guy in the left background, Donnie Doofus, the trees behind Doofus, and the marine by the helicopter to be tilted to the left, while the man at the right of the image is still leaning right. Rotating to make the centerline of the marine plumb makes everything look reasonable, but Doofus still has an unnatural-looking forward lean. (Gimp tells me I'm rotating -0.72).

like he has to compensate for the excess weight in his gut or that his gut is pulling him forward, which causes discomfort or pain in his back. So peculiar looking.
