it went up 550 new deaths yesterday, 20k new cases

7. they only report the data that is being reported out. Its a holiday weekend so I suspect some big

then the beginning of the week is usually slow as well, my guess is that it is because many labs don't work on the weekend and not as many tests are processed. Then, we peak Wed/Thurs. If you look at the charts on the US breakdown page, you can see the pattern.

there has been a trend for over a month now with the reported deaths being markedly below the overall trend followed by a spike in reported deaths during the next week.

Overall the trend is doing down, but that patterns has been established - as others note just seems that not all the weekend deaths get reported.
