They have a Trump clone president and I have seen the poverty in brazil. What a deadly combination. I have been to brazil a few times. I did a lot of traveling. Some parts of Brazil are very modern, however there is a huge population of poor people in Brazil who live in very dense areas. I am talking millions of very poor people who live bunched together.
They are vey family oriented in Brazil. Extended families live together in small homes all bunched together. The virus will spread like a forest fire. Brazil is not alone, the virus is spreading throughout latin America. This will come back to haunt us. What is happening there will not stay there. One day it will travel here and we will get hit hard again.

(22,188 posts)I feel for them and wish them the best out of a difficult situation. It's going to be hard to watch this happen as it did in neighboring South American countries where the CV had already or is making serious inroads and causing a lot of death. Sad. Very sad and profound.

(4,379 posts)I would not be surprised if they surpass us in the number of deaths down the road.
