Mark Zuckerberg Says Social Media Giants Shouldn't Be In Position To Fact-Check Users

When asked about Twitter’s fact-checking of President Trump, Zuckerberg said Facebook shouldn’t be “the arbiter of truth.”

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said his company’s policies differ from those of Twitter when it comes to fact-checking users.

For the first time, Twitter tagged two of President Donald Trump’s tweets on Tuesday with a fact-checking note indicating that his statements were misleading. Angered over the notes, Trump later accused Twitter of attempting to influence the upcoming 2020 presidential election.

During an interview with Fox News’ Dana Perino, Zuckerberg said he disagreed with Twitter’s policy and said he didn’t believe his own company, Facebook, should be “the arbiter of truth.”

“We have a different policy than Twitter on this,” Zuckerberg told Perino when asked about Twitter’s decision to fact-check Trump.

“I just believe strongly that Facebook shouldn’t be the arbiter of truth of everything that people say online,” he said. “I think in general, private companies probably shouldn’t be — especially these platform companies — shouldn’t be in the position of doing that.”

No surprise from the guy who said:

"he found Holocaust denial “deeply offensive”, but added: “I don’t believe that our platform should take that down because I think there are things that different people get wrong. I don’t think that they’re intentionally getting it wrong … It’s hard to impugn intent and to understand the intent.”

Such an "open minded" person to allow his platform to be used as a means of inciting hatred

They're no longer predominantly transmitting just citizen's private social communications but instead mostly relay dogma and ads from corporations, politicians and political entities, both foreign and domestic.

As I see it, every evil entity around the globe now has free access to the ear of a majority of citizens including children. It's no wonder so many have been brainwashed, particularly considering how these platforms encourage circles of friends that can become mini-echo chambers of that evil dogma.

With anything human that at first glance appears to be a really neat thing, the evil profiteering elements of the world will soon take advantage of it and eventually dominate it.

“I just believe strongly that Facebook shouldn’t be the arbiter of truth of everything that people say online,” he said.

Nobody opined that Facebook should be the "arbiter of truth of everything people say online", and he knows it. Its a freaking cop out to get away with not having to say that "Donald Trump is wrong" in this specific instance. This has nothing to do with "fact checking"; the god damn POTUS has gone from using private platforms to pass on bullshit to now slandering a talk show host and causing harm to a family of a dead woman, and they don't have to allow him to do it. For fooks sake, the world has gone mad.
