We are a nation in pain right now, but we must not allow this pain to destroy us.
As President, I will help lead this conversation and more importantly, I will listen, just as I did today visiting the site of last night's protests in Wilmington.

(58,785 posts)the national leader we very badly need.
But I prefer him working busily with others, getting ready to hit the ground running, from his basement. I shudder at the thought that he could become seriously ill before the election from a virus that targets older people.

Yes, like Robert Kennedy in Indianapolis after Dr. King was shot, you'd like to see Joe out there calming the crowds, tending the flock, keeping the peace.
But, at the same time, special times that they are, we DO want him healthy! I'd like to think that there is a staff/group/committee/party leadership that IS working on important issues and indeed planning to hit the ground running.
He's fighting in a tough, unique situation: the incumbent always has the advantage (more so for IQ45 - the press will cover ANYTHING that idiot will do - they have for the past 10 years!) - and for the most part "the President" controls the dialog. At the same time, again, a unique situation, there has never been less respect for the office - a perfect opportunity to show what "could be" if given the chance.
Truth be told, the BEST plan is to sit back and let IQ45 keep digging his own grave - which he is doing quite well! At the same time, POSITIVE images, such as the one shown in this posting, keep reminding "what could be."
The BEST we can do? GET OUT THE VOTE!!!!!!!

(63,941 posts)my response might have been premature, but being in the basement may be helping him.

(9,116 posts)It's June, and those numbers are subject to change. Right now, people are fairly occupied being angry at Trump, which is helping Biden by default. How long will that last?

(16,946 posts)There are - to quote a certain "someone" many people saying that at this point just lay back and let IQ45 continue to shoot himself in the foot.
Events continue to show his numbers going down, all of that of his own doing. He keeps throwing out new bait that continues to put himself deeper into the wrong side of issues that are evolving daily.
At this point JOE seems to picking and choosing where to throw special "jabs" that will only make IQ45 look even worse. Not a bad strategy - sit back, let him continue to show himself to be the horse's a$$ that he is and every now and then throw another bit of bait to let him dig even deeper.
Seems like a good plan to me!

Trump and advisers calculated that he shouldnt speak to the nation because he had nothing to say, no tangible policy or action to announce, nor did he feel an urgent motivation to try to bring people together. So he let his tweets speak for themselves. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/as-cities-burned-trump-stayed-silent--other-than-tweeting-fuel-on-the-fire/2020/05/31/4fc8761a-a354-11ea-b619-3f9133bbb482_story.html

They think they can survive an unstable country, but if they keep giving him legitimacy, he'll turn on them and come for them NEXT.
Only reality-committed professionalism will save them.
