There will be a "Trump Bar" that Biden would also benefit from, it would probably go on for a while

Just imagine Republicans trying to turn everything into a -gate scandal with Biden like how they did with Obama.

"I have a plan for impeachment. Biden put an acting guy in an appointed role without Senate approval! He's clearly a dictator and we must start impeachment proceedings immediately!"
"Ahem, *clears throat* our guy did that over 40 times, he seemed kind of proud of it actually, and we did nothing..."
"Right, OK people, you have to tell me these things! OK, no problem. Second plan for impeachment... We accuse Biden of negotiating with terrorists and regimes hostile to the US! It makes Biden look so vile, it WILL work"
"Ahem, *clears throat"..."

D). A desire not to be hypocrites

Keep in mind McConnel’s announcement that despite blocking Garland Because “it was an election year” they wouldn’t hesitate to approve a Trump appointee in an election year.

Hypocrisy is no barrier to the GOP.
