"This isn't a happy birthday. This is like visiting a friend in the ICU."

Shane Morris @IamShaneMorris

I don't really feel like celebrating. This isn't a happy birthday. This is like visiting a friend in the ICU.

Yeah... can't disagree with that at all.

puking for an hour and still not feeling right so I can relate. But I wasn't in a fourth of July mood anyway.

Unlike Susan Collins, I really am concerned!

Let us know how you are doing.

Still not able to keep anything down and my lower GI is not happy. Might have to seek medical attention.

It does sound like you may need some medical intervention. Especially with everything going on, err on the side of caution.

I hope before this day is over that you will start feeling better.

I didn't sleep well last night thinking about our country and Independence Day, actually had a bad dream. It wasn't Fourth of July, it was the anniversary of 9/11 and folks were celebrating in the streets with a party and parade like it was a happy occasion. I saw a baby tossed in the air then watched it hit the hard ground, then picked up and tossed again like no damage was done. Woke up in tears.

Many symbols of dread and anxiety.
I read a long time ago that you can train yourself to rewrite your dreams if they start getting bad. I can do it a little, so sometimes I can make a bad dream not quite so bad.

And the power is about to be cut to the machines. Last nights tax payers funded KKKlan hate Jamboree says it all. And God sent him to do just that, right? If that is the message straight from God....... we’ll, I will just leave it there. MAGA, Mark of the beast on the forehead. Rain check this Independence Day until Jan 2021. Then we will have a real party of independence from Putin. GOP, Governance Of Putin,

We cheer ourselves up after we leave, if we can. I am not going out, not having company. I am making some picnic food to enjoy my day. I am not celebrating the 4th, but it is Saturday, in July, and I will make a memory about myself on this particular day. As long as putin runs our country, I won't fly my flag, but I will never stop loving the U.S.A.

There is no joy in this day for me. In years past I loved watching the Capitol Fourth celebration on PBS. I actually spent one 4th of July at the Capitol back with Bush Sr. was in office. I didn't like him or agree with his policies, but I still had a sense of patriotism and love for the holiday. I always felt it was very important for my two children to learn about their government and to visit all the places in D.C. that they were learning about in school, so I took them on this trip. I always flew my flag too. Maybe I was just younger and trying to set a good example for my children, but I do believe that I was patriotic.

After the Supreme Court decision to ensconce Dubya in the White House without counting all the votes and after 9/11 and then this election stolen in cooperation with an enemy of our state I can honestly say that I don't feel that way any longer. Oh, I felt so terribly proud watching President Obama's inauguration and thought we were on the right track and progressing as a country, but now I'm just a cynic.

I hope Joe can help to unite us once again, but I'm not optimistic. These trump supporters don't want to be united. They like the hate and division and they are not going away.

None of us who feel this way are wrong. If you are steady in your beliefs, you will be a beacon to those who need it, and you might help others to come your way.

So, yesterday I made a pumpkin pie and designed 4th July cards for my senior friends, two haven't been out of the house since March. I wore my mask during baking and card design, just to be extra careful. They were So happy, I thought they would start crying. I didn't touch anyone or sit, wore mask and gloves... It was really difficult not to hug them, I could tell they needed hugs so badly. Anyway, That's how I am celebrating this year... Pie, cards and then I'll putter in the garden. I promised an elderly neighbor some of my hens n chicks, so I'll get those out for her today and also take her a card.
