as of yesterday according to https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
world: 528,409 deaths out of 7.795 billion people
u.s.: 132,101 deaths out of 331,018,157 million people
world minus u.s.: 396,308 deaths out of 7,463,981,843 people = .0053096%
u.s. at the world minus u.s. death rate: 17,576 deaths
so far, 114,525, or 86.7% of all u.s. covid-19 deaths are due to something about the american response to covid-19 that's different than the rest of the world (i.e., donnie and the idiot republicans).

Technique OP uses is not applicable, so it is bogus. Cases currently are under-reported and under-tested and under-confirmed. Even more so with deaths, as in Florida and Texas and especially regimes like Russia.
US had until a month ago done a medium-fair job of flattening the curve. And US death rate as a percent of known infections was fair, not great like Germany and not terrible like Spain or Italy. Russian death rate is artificially very low because they only write down "Covid" if there is a positive test and no underlying conditions and no other specific cause they can use like "pneumonia" or "organ failure".

for most of the deaths here, and counting.
Quibble with the details if you want but the point is most of our deaths didn't have to happen.
