The Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday announced an effort to partner with basketball star LeBron James voting rights group More Than A Vote to make Fiserv Forum available as a potential voting site.
James is seeking to use NBA arenas and other sporting locations as large polling sites for the November presidential election, the Associated Press reported. The effort is meant to allow ballots to be cast in person during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Were looking forward to working with the City of Milwaukee, in any capacity that we can, to ensure ppl can safely exercise their right to vote!" tweeted Milwaukee Bucks Senior Vice President Alex Lasry.
"We just want to continue to do what we can to make sure that people can safely exercise their right to vote," Lasry told the Journal Sentinel. "If that means that we serve as a voter registration place, great. If it means that we can be a polling place, great. We want the city to know, and the people of Milwaukee to know, that we're here to assist and be a resource in any way we can."
