(36,748 posts)I love being able to sit and think on the choices, research them. Then at my leisure drop it off at our township hall.
I definitely see why Pukes hate them so much.

(2,593 posts)I love it! It gives me time to research candidates, who is endorsing them and who opposes them, and time to research measures as well. I love being able to do this from the peace and privacy of my home, and I feel like I can be much more thoughtful and informed in my decisions. If I don't get it filled out in time to mail it in, then I can drop it off at one of our local public libraries, which will have a locked box that I can put my sealed envelope in. My state also has an optional secrecy sleeve that I can slide my folded ballot in before putting it in the main envelope which gets sealed and has my signature on it. We worked to get this in place after Reagan won the election in 1984. People on the West coast felt ripped off because all the major t.v. networks declared him the winner before most of us were able to get off work and go to the polls. Many of us wondered if it helped Reagan because we felt like, why bother going to the polls and stand in line when the election had already been declared.
