An Ohio member of the House of Representatives is facing criticism after urging his constituents to stop getting tested for coronavirus.
Rep. Nino Vitales (R-Urbana) comments came Tuesday, a day before Ohio Gov. Mike DeWines face mask order was to go into effect. He has ordered the use of face masks in seven counties seeing spikes in COVID-19 cases.
Vitale asked on Facebook on Tuesday if people are tired of living in a dictatorship yet?
This is what happens when people go crazy and get tested. STOP GETTING TESTED, he wrote. It is giving the government an excuse to claim something that is not happening at the magnitude they say it is happening.

(1,725 posts)... it was horrendous. Bastards got away with it and it was upheld by SCOTUS.
But DeWine has handled COVID in Ohio almost without error. He even had prisoners tested to stop the spread there - don't think any other Republican govs did that. He hasn't been perfect, but I'm not sure I'd be alive if he hadn't shut us down so quickly and completely, then pushed for testing statewide - I'm high-risk. And now the face mask order... I must give him credit, at least so far.
And I didn't believe him when he promised to push absentee voting for the delayed primary, but he did. So hoping OH has no problems in November with massive mail-in voting - we've had no-reason absentee ballots since at least 2004, probably before that, I'd have to look it up. He became close to Michigan's Gov. Whitmer during the early COVID stages - they talked almost daily - so I doubt he's a Trump ass-kisser. Hope not. We'll see.
