(13,081 posts)This is a developing nation with population of 80 million BTW. It's about their country's government doing the right thing and being so well prepared to handle breakouts. That was mentioned on the video.

(3,589 posts)That regardless of where the virus originated - due to the ability to travel from location to another in a short amount of time, that once the virus was out of the box - it was somewhat academic as to where it originated. People travel from all over the world - the spread or spreads could have come from anywhere to certain geographical locations.

(2,406 posts)... the spread is in a population. That's part of the rationale for social distancing and wearing masks even though coronavirus is present to some extent in a particular locale.
I don't know if this explanation is right or wrong, but it's scientifically plausible. It's not a rightwing talking point and it doesn't merit a sarcasm tag ... or a subject line of "wow."

(3,427 posts)In fact, the number of Chinese visitors to Vietnam hit a record high in January, before Vietnam started banning travelers from virus-stricken areas.

Whatever the reason for Vietnam's zero official death toll, it's not because it lacked visitors from China.
