(42,676 posts)there's not much in their product line the average MAGAt would want to buy. Plus, it's got Spanish words on the label and they don't like that kind of thing.

That's not very appetizing packaging, imo.

(2,187 posts)Once Spanky & the daughter he sexually desires used the WH to shill for Goya, I was done with the company permanently. Those pictures make me see red. If Hillary had done anything like this, certain members of the GOP would've had apoplexy so hard for the tv cameras that some may even have died. Ridiculous.

(18,672 posts)Oddly, not a single Goya brand out of all the beans in my pantry. And now there never will be. Vegetarians/vegans use beans in a ton of different ways. I dont know a single Trumper who is a vegetarian or vegan. I think in the long run, Goya will lose revenue from this. Trump left his mark on this brand and that will not sit well with anyone who has any amount of social awareness.

(17,374 posts)Im pretty lazy and one of my favorite meals is homemade mash potatoes and Bushs Vegetarian baked beans.
What kind of dried beans do you cook and what do you add to them? 🙂
Mendocino
(7,531 posts)also black eyed, white, kidney, garbanzos, cannellini,...lentils, split peas. For starches brown rice, barley, orzo, couscous, quinoa, bulgur. I chop some onion, celery and carrots, some bay leaf; then cook them down. When the beans are cooked, then I add whatever herbs and spices. I do like some off-beat veggies; okra, parsnips, rutabagas, turnips.

(7,531 posts)separately from the beans, rice gets "gluey" otherwise.
liberalmuse
(18,672 posts)so I also could eat them for days. Canned beans are convenient, but I just got a small Instant Pot and have started buying dry beans. Either way they are so good (and cheap!).

I wonder if he will ever realize the failure in his logic.

You can have my idea, just send me a few cans.

(43,501 posts)I bought Goya barley in March. In May when I went for restock, they had a different brand and different packaging in the same Goya display. Can't help notice the brand has a zip code a few towns over from Goya in NJ. So if they can't sell Goya, they'll likely use a different subsidiary, or package wholesale for different distributors.
Sorry to throw cold water on the whole thing, but it's a reality that companies shift gears rapidly.

(5,081 posts)I sometimes shop there for limited items like tomato sauce, etc. They buy overstock that are nearing their sell by date and retail it at a much lower price to get rid of it while it is still good. They almost always have a full stock of GOYA. I find GOYA products are overpriced for one thing and things like their corn meal and tomato sauce suck. One time buying them and threw half of it out. The corn meal is very, very fine and if you are making fried polenta, it does not set up right. The tomato sauce has all kinds of stuff other than tomatoes in it and I found out the hard way not to make spaghetti sauce with it. The fact they always have a full stock says to me that other stores have a problem selling it.

(45,659 posts)this was a dumb move for them as they lose more customers than they would gain. Trump supporters are probably not going to buy canned beans and adobo seasoning as often as Latinos have.
