(6,960 posts)I was 13. I lived in California, but my Girl Scout troop was on a long trip which included attending the "Feasting of the Tribe of Will" at the Ashland (OR) Shakespeare Festival. I was too young to realize I was getting the autograph of a legend. He was so gracious.
After that I did read about what he was doing when I could. Man, those were the days - when there were still Republicans with honor.
I now live in Colorado, and I find it tragic that the government - NOT the protesters - shows such disrespect, not only for his memory, but for the Constitution and the country.

(15,469 posts)You do a yeoman's job (not sure what that means but I think its complimentary.)
Love (as always) Toles: "All that's left to see is who he can take down with him."
Unmarked - tribute to one of the last good Republicans, Mark Hatfield.
My fingers have become so tuned to typing repuglicons when that word came up - I had to temporarily retrain them.
Ann Telnaes - always.

(37,166 posts)So you'll have to wait about half a year for that.
As for the other thing...
yeoman /ˈjoʊmən/ noun
plural yeomen
1 : an officer in the U.S. Navy who works as a clerk
2 : a farmer in the past who owned a small amount of land
yeoman's work/service US also yeoman work/service
: very good, hard, and valuable work that someone does especially to support a cause, to help a team, etc.
"They've done yeoman's work in raising money for the organization."

(58,785 posts)newscasts and cartoons is going to be a huge problem among the populace in general. If all goes well, we'll someday once again be giving weak chuckles and ho-hums to most. Itm, best enjoy and find some comfort of commonality revealed by this extravagance of powerful political cartoons gathered by JHB and others.
