He just said we CAN NOT get a 2 - 3 day turn around in 100% of the testing right now with the current demand because of supply but we can do it going forward.
WHY THE FUCK NOT ?! ... WHEN is "forward" ?!
What have they been doing for the last fuckin 6 months?
Why can't the country do 1 million test a day with a 2 - 3 day turn around ?!
5 days for 76% of test is disgusting ... now talking about Point Of Care testing which was promised by Pence 4 months ago.
We could have nearly half the cases today if we could isolate those who are sick better but we don't know who are sick.

(82,849 posts)Why yes, yes he did. Way back in March, nearly five months ago. I've heard all my life about the military's "can do" attitude and "failure is not an option." Admiral, this sounds like "can't do" and that failure is not only an option, it's your first option. Is the regimen of "test, trace, and isolate" too complicated for you? Is there someone else we can talk to, somebody with slightly more imagination and ability?

(25,929 posts)There has got to be some sort of lead time for training people to process the tests, and depending on exactly where the chemicals and whatever come from, it may be simply impossible to get enough. Plus, we are hardly the only country trying to test.
Assuming everything going on is a deliberate thing to kill as many Americans as possible is just as ridiculous as the claims that Dr. Fauci made the virus in a lab.
Exercise just a little bit of critical thinking.

(30,613 posts)We are, however, the only major industrialized country that is utterly failing to test in sufficient quantity and rapidity.
Have you seen today's expose on Jared's "bungling" of the testing, and how he has been urging Trump not to test, and how Trump has been pulling the funding?

Go to this site: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries
Then sort the column that says tests per 1million population.
Notice the ones that are doing the most tests that way are generally very small countries. We come in at number 20, which is respectable. Notice the countries that come after us. Are you surprised?
Another measure no one seems to care about is deaths per million. Right now we are coming in at number 10. We are the third most populous country in the world, and given that China at least supposedly has it all under control, and India is just beginning to fully experience the virus and are probably way, way underreporting, we will not keep our top slot as having the most deaths for very long.
San Marino, which has by a huge factor the most deaths per million, needs to be seen as an outlier because of its tiny population.
It is not as though the Trumps and mini-me Jared are in total control over testing or even access to what's needed for the tests. I'm not cutting them any slack, but they are not the only factor in play here.
