I really don't think anything will get past the wall of wealth he hides behind.

(34,141 posts)There is the crux of the matter!
(Remembering my early lessons in which a feather falls at the same rate as a cannon ball but ONLY if they fall in a vacuum.)

(2,878 posts)What got Mr Gore, other than corruption was that they only asked for recounts in a set of Dem leaning areas, he should have shouldered the cost and paid for a statewide recount, but in many states they only cost if the margin is over a set fraction of a percent.

(7,349 posts)The sacrificial lamb we laid on the gqp alter.
NurseJackie
(42,862 posts)It was an unnecessary sacrifice, but he fell on his sword "willingly" because he could see that a prolonged investigation (simply giving him his due process) was starting to rip-apart and weaken the Democratic party. He put the good of the party above his own interests by foregoing what was fair and right.
Honestly, I think he should run again. Let the voters decide. I'd welcome him back with open arms and a tear or two in my eyes.

(1,813 posts)Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
