https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1116&pid=93269The thread talks about CNBC having Rick Perry on. He was a high level participant in the plot to overthrow our Democracy.
CNBC is legitimizing him.
What do y'all think of this idea: We pin a thread that lists such appearances. When you see one of these traitors on TV, you note the program and the network, you look up the contact phone number for the network or program. Then you post the information.
Anyone linking to the thread then calls the number and complains, and we jam their switchboard or at least make them log a truckload of complaints.
I know politicians pay more attention to phone calls than anything else. I imagine TV stations do the same, because a call requires more effort on the part of the caller than an email or text. (Does anyone know if this is true for TV stations? If you know, please let US know if it is true or not.)
The viewer would have to do a little legwork, but not much, and eventually we would have a stable of contact information within the thread, and it would be even easier. People could send it on to their contacts if they are so inclined, making the reach go even farther.
This is a rough idea. What do you think? Let me know the pitfalls you see, or ways you see to make it better.
It would be a way to register our anger at what they are doing, and a way for them to know they are pissing off their viewers.

Showcase Republican criminals using the media to wash up their dirty deeds. Perry today, Esper last week, Giuliani all of 2019

(54,770 posts)I'm fine with him being on CNBC and every other outlet.
I don't think these fools gain much credibility when they appear.

It's been a very very long time since someone here has suggested it. unfortunately it didn't get the attention necessary to get this jup and running.
I hope it does now.

(42,770 posts)call them. Absolutely.
You can "pin" something here??
What you said is very interesting about how phone calls mean something now. It used to be tons of emails. Now Twitter responses mean zero, unless you can somehow someway get a ground swell.
Let's do it.

(3,129 posts)I would like to see a "Quick Hits" pinned subfolder in the Media forum to keep it front and center. I would even love to see it pinned to the home page if possible. Lacking that, we that are active in the forum could post daily reminder links to send DU members to the page so we can all be taking a few mins out of our day to do a little important activism.
Let's do it!!
