Successful people in the service industry know the #1 quality they will call upon again and again is a thick skin. It's never a matter of when they will be abused and / or disrespected...it's a matter of when. I would not want to be in any of their shoes these days.

I think trump saw him and realized there was some major subliminal symbolism that could quietly reinforce some unspoken “realities” throughout his base. Pence is so white-on-white that he could go as Casper the Friendly Ghost for Halloween and wouldn’t need a costume. Or, he could always go as a lightbulb.
