Being a loner myself, I can only imagine what it took for this lady who I befriended last January to actually post a gofundme on her own behalf. Before posting it, she asked me to help her share it, presumably because she has very few friends and no support group to speak of.
Her gofundme is about what you'd expect from someone with no internet savvy - there isn't even a picture of herself on it. Personally, I think she should go with this one (which I will recommend to her after I get done writing this post):
Anyway, I did share her gofundme on facebook and DU, but being a loner I don't have much more of a following than she does. I lurked on DU for probably 15 years before finally joining.
She posted this gofundme a week ago - I was the first donor, there were four other donations the first day, and none since then. It breaks my heart to think how alone she must be feeling right now.
She just posted this update today:
Basically, she will be dropped from her company's health insurance at the end of the month if she cannot pay the back premiums within the next 5 days.
Here's the link to her fundraiser:

If anyone can give me any other advice on how to help her, please add your comments.
Thank you!

(113,231 posts)Not just in your friends case, but, in general.
Very thoughtful of you to help her. Lupus truly wreaks havoc and further complicates these procedures.

Did she try FMLA?
