(270,010 posts)Police held back protesters outside the residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday, amid widespread anger at the failures that led to last month's deadly attack by Hamas gunmen on communities around the Gaza Strip.
Waving blue and white Israeli flags and chanting "Jail now!", a crowd in the hundreds pushed through police barriers around Netanyahu's residence in Jerusalem.
The protest, which coincided with a poll showing more than three quarters of Israelis believe Netanyahu should resign, underlined the growing public fury at their political and security leaders.

(1,776 posts)Because only bigots, terrorist fanboys/gloryhole sycophants, and aspiring Waffen SS grenadiers apparently remember past last month, when Bibi and his unique brand of corruption, fraud and RW extremism were anathema to anyone to the left of the Burgermeister Meisterburger.

(10,314 posts)What he knew, when did he know it and why did he let Hamas attack? Like W let 9/11 happen ..... to have a reason to start a war.
Such a monumental intelligence blunder if he didn't know.

(2,629 posts)It's more complicated.
Hamas (Iran) saw that Netanyahu was losing support. He was being investigated and there were protests
against him before 10/7. Hamas saw this as a weakening of Netanyahu and Likud, There was the imminent agreement with Saudi Arabia... the perfect time to attack.
Except- the barbaric actions of Hamas have no excuse. To put the blame squarely in Israel is not looking at the big picture. Netanyahu will never take personal responsibility for this.
Yes, in a way the protesters were responsible because they showed no confidence in the government - perfect time to attack. In that way he's kind of right - but ultimately it was his actions that caused the protests.
