A cache of weapons, ammunitions, and explosives were found hidden by Hamas in a Gazan kindergarten by IDF troops.
The discovery was made by the 551st Brigade, a group of reservist commandos and paratroopers who had been carrying out operations against Hamas in the area.
Photos and footage of the weapons were shared by the IDF Spokesperson's Unit, as well as footage of the brigade's operations in the Gaza Strip.

(6,829 posts)Those inconvenient facts of how Hamas is maximizing civilian casualties arent the important issue in this conflict!
Only Israeli actions are war crimes doncha know, and only Israel must ceasefire, and lets only do a daily body count for Palestinians and repeat that over and over and over and over

(158 posts)Like most of us I've read or heard the reports of things like this, but to see it like this makes me very sad. Because of how they were brought up, even this generation of children will find it difficult to get along with Israelis as they grow up.

(19,335 posts)This didn't appear overnight. It was there before Oct 7th.
It reminds me of the posts I've seen where people question reports of Hamas using hospitals, because the doctors and nurses swear they haven't seen any Hamas activity there. I bet the teachers would have said the same.

(28,369 posts)are simply afraid for themselves or their loved ones. Given the fact that Hamas has been firing on civilians for attempting to leave, i.e., leaving their appointed posts as martyrs for Hamas/Hezbollah power, subversion or even simple dissent seems like an extremely dangerous proposition.
I don't discount the fact that Hamas enjoys too much support, I. just hope for the sake of the entire region that support is soft, shallow and weak.
Every single hope of any peace must begin with the END of Hamas.

(2,959 posts)The Palestinians literally let Hamas militarize schools and hospitals. That doesn't happen without a general level of support for Hamas.

(3,302 posts)On the one hand, you've got a handful of kindergarten teachers. On the other hand, you've got a band of fanatical, violent terrorists. If the latter kicks down the door and tells the former they're going to use this as a weapons cache, the teachers don't have a lot of options. Telling Hamas to get bent probably isn't going to work very well.
Or I could be wrong and the teachers are ride or die on fighting the Israelis and cheerfully go along with it. I'd like to think people responsible for the education and well-being of children would loathe having their school turned into a weapons cache for Hamas, but I'm looking at things through a Western lens. They're not.
