Things are getting better, not as much pain anymore, able to sneeze, cough, yawn without dropping to the floor in pain, so that's a good thing.
Now, on to my Harley, sold it to a friend for $6,000.00 and in the process of buying my dream car, a 1957 Chevy Nomad that's had a frame off restoration, its not stock, it has a modern LS 4 engine with a modern 6 speed manual transmission, Ford 9" Detroit locker rear end, digital gauges, and a whole lot of other modern upgrades but it still retains that 1957 look.
I'm going to take a sabbatical for a few months and concentrate on life.
Everyone, Happy New Years and I'll see you on the flip side.

(87,507 posts)A wise move.
Good to hear you're doing better!
I'm one of the lucky ones that had a motorcycle crash without dying or in critical condition.
The car I'm buying is so much safer that an bike.

(87,507 posts)I gave up driving motorcycles in my twenties and gave up riding in my late fifties, I like my cars, they're not new but they run great and look pretty good for their age, get me where I need to go. In snow country it's just not practical to have anything too fancy if they are your regular transportation.

(467 posts)When I got married in '79, my husband had a '57 Ford station wagon with a bench front seat. Those bench seats were great for being close. I miss that car and I wish you happy times in your new ride.

(603 posts)The 57 Ford Ranch Wagon was a pretty cool car also, but I'm a Chevy guy to the heart.

✌🏻
You can't even buy one for that amount out of a wrecking yard.
Mine is costing me just north of $30,000.00 but for me, its well worth it.

(18,468 posts)I didn't really understand anything about the car, but it sounds wonderful.

(603 posts)LS 4 engine is one of Chevy's most popular modern fuel injected engines, very, very reliable, and the rear end is a very popular Ford rear end with racers and restorers.
Gear heads here will understand the lingo.

(6,093 posts)lol. Happy you sold the bike. Had a 57 Chev back in 66. Bought it for $100 and sold it for $100 couple years later. Great car. Wish I still had it. I am 53 and had to put a pillow behind my back just to barely reach the pedals. Allow yourself to heal and have a Happy New Year.
