He was doing a comedy bit.

It was the interview segment later that was over the line for me. He brings on an editor from The Economist and the two spend the entire segment trashing Biden about his age.

If you think not registering as a Democrat but often voting Democratic somehow puts you above the crowd or it makes you special because you aren't "part of the system" and that you are independent thinking or whatever justification you choose to use, STOP IT, time for that shit is OVER!

The more registered Democrats there are the stronger the party is! Change that now, please!

Reminds me of Randi Rhodes proudly reminding her audience just the other day that she is registered as an independent, and not as a Democrat ...sigh!

I don't have TikTok, so I haven't seen what he posted. But as far as the Superbowl interview goes..... I think he may have made the right decision. Superbowl Sunday is about Football. Not politics. Yes, millions were watching, but most of them would turn the channel once it turned to politics.

As far as TikTok, I just hopes that his campaign people hire some very witty producers, and even follow some of Jon's advice on filming Joe Biden when he is doing his job. Especially with foreign leaders.

I can't imagine the pressure that (a good president like Joe Biden) is under with the weight of the presidency, and with the world problems and national problems that he has to juggle. An (hour?) long sit-down with a reporter (who might be attempting to put him in a bad light, or to get him to gaf) could have gone really wrong and done a lot of damage.

Even Jon said (when talking about when Joe had a quick press conference to rebut the Hur comments) 'Noooooooo!!!" when he went back to answer questions. I know I was doing the same thing when I watched it live. I was like: Why did you answer questions????

Anyway. Some people are made for TV, some people are not. I don't think Joe Biden is, but his job is much more deep than looking good on the TV. It would be better if he were, but he is not. (and Trump makes me want to vomit when I see him, so there is that)

They scare the crap out of me. Clones walking around quoting Trump and his philosophies when some of them used to have some pretty good original thoughts. Lindsay is one, but just the glazed eyeballs these days seem to announce that the light bulb has gone out.

So I guess they have to joke about Democrats because they at least are living on the planet Earth.

For a performance that did not do "both sides" there sure are lots of articles about it. Weird that. In normal times maybe it is OK, not now. Not now.

Didnt Putin just kill his political opponent (died in prison, same thing) after receiving word from trump that when he takes over again the US will support them in their ATTACK on Europe. Yeah, not now. I am a huge fan of Stewart also, will continue to watch.

These are lose - lose times, nothing Jon can do will satisfy everybody.

I took it as more of an observation of the state of the race. Both siderism basically means that "both sides" are doing bad things. The segment wasn't that at all. It was about both guys being old.

But I agree with you, but then the show was mostly about age and there is no way around it, our choice is kind of ridiculous if you look at it without context.

I will continue to watch.

I mean Stewart can't just attack trump appropriately for his crimes and insurrection about how he's one of the worst human beings on Earth and then talk about all the great things President Biden has done, that's a different show. I probably dont want to see that either.

I think what I was hoping for when I heard he was coming back was that he would make fun in a fun way of Biden's gaffes and what not but make it very clear the alternative is not just the end of the country but as we now see with his comments about Russia (traitor trump's comments) the end of everything. I dont know how to do that, I think it would be hard. But they are the best at this stuff.

I've watched the opening segment multiple times and it is unequivocally clear that he was equivocating Biden's age with the criminality of trump. He did not put any real emphasis on Trump being old like Biden, I mean Jon went on a tear trying to humiliate the president about his chocolate chip cookie comment on TikTok.

I mean he did the normal song and dance on Trump but it was clear and obvious his primary target was to attack Biden.

I imagine Stewart is going to have placate his corporate masters a little after already losing one job because he wouldn't play ball.

?t=838 (13:58 into it)

Or 14:32 into it. This part goes on for two minutes.

And 17:30 in completely refutes your post. "Joe Biden isn't Donald Trump. He hasn't been indicted as many times. He hasn't had as many fraudulent businesses, or been convicted in a civil trial for sexual assault, or ordered to pay defamation, or had his charities disbanded, or stiffed a ton of blue-collar tradesman he hired."
