Some Republicans are voicing anger over election of Lara Trump to RNC
Lara Trump, who is married to Donald Trump's son Eric Trump, was elected to the role with chairman Michael Whatley - another of the former president's supporters -- at a meeting in Houston, Texas, the RNC said in a news release Friday.
-----------
Many people online said that they are officially "no longer a Republican" while others said the GOP gets "progressively worse" with each new party boss and that the "nepotism on display" would amount to a "major Democrat party victory."
=-----------
Some, like U.S. Navy veteran Dan Stilwell, said that they would "not donate another penny" to the Republican Party as long as Lara Trump remains involved in its leadership. Others said that they would change from Republican to Independent, or vote for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in the 2024 presidential election.
"Remember-Laura Trump said 'every single penny' will be spent on Trump," Kyle Sweetser, who identified themselves as a "Haley Republican," said on social media. "Pair that with the RNC resolution to ban paying Trump's legal bills being shot down, the GOP is in for a whole lot of losing in 2024."

(7,540 posts)It'd be hilarious if Trump won, but because he took all the campaign money from down-ballot Republican races both houses flipped solid Democrat so he'd be the lamest duck that ever quacked.

Neither are abundant among the Groupies Of Putin party.
Let's hope, for our country's sake, that they don't acquire them for a few more years--easier to beat them down to oblivion this way.

(3,937 posts)Let's see, we're going to reduce the GOP fundraising machine to a mechanism that sucks out cash to pay Trump's legal bills while Democrats raise record amounts of money to spend on their campaigns. That works for me.

I wonder how all those down ballot people feel about drumpf now knowing he's going to slop up the whole budget and leave them unfunded.
Yeah...... i know what you are thinking, and you are right... they will all still adore him and lick his boots, and blame Biden, somehow, for their lack of money.

(91,020 posts)Its been horrifying to watch the GOP not do it. So now I have to ask: what did you think was going to happen? Now the RNC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Trump Inc
.
I have no sympathy whatsoever for them. He should have been history in October 2016 when the Access Hollywood tape was leaked - but NOOOOOO!!

(16,267 posts)I really hope he bleeds the RNC dry so they have no money to campaign.
Also, I hope he strokes/goes to jail/loses in no particular order.

(13,444 posts)The RNC and Republicans need to start paying a price (literally and figuratively) for cozying up to that wannabe dictator and his family. Losing elections because of a lack of funding due to these payments is as good as any other lesson for them to learn.
