sees the light only AFTER he shits all over them...Barr, Mattis, Kelly, Esper, Milley, Tlllerson, Bolton...
as for Ronna McDaniel...two things are driving her supposed about-face...(1) Trump forced her out of her job after nearly bankrupting the RNC shelling out millions of dollarsto pay his legal bills..no more money/no more Ronna...she wants revenge and (2) NBC is paying her a lot of money..

(81,594 posts)I love all these Repub flippers.......After spending every day for the last seven years helping Trump to the place is occupies, NOW when he kicks them to the curb, the finally realize he uses anyone and everyone to achieve his position. That includes the entire RNC, Republican Politicians, and Republican Voters.
Then, these flippers try to crawl out of the gutter, finally having fully realized what they knew all along about their martyr.....
In the meantime, all of us are left with the Frankenstein's Monster they took a big part in creating........

She flatly refused to acknowledge how she enabled Trump after the 2020 election, when he was pushing the Big Lie and getting his supporters all worked up.
She also said she believes Biden was elected "fair and square," but refused to admit that she had ever said otherwise in the past, even after Welker showed a clip of an interview where she did exactly that. At that point, McDaniel should have said, "Yeah, I said that, and I was wrong back then." Oops.
Welker kept trying to pin her down, but McDaniel kept insisting there were "problems" and "issues" with the election, that Biden won, but "both of those things can be true."
Basically, Ronna seems to expect people to believe she didn't do what everyone knows she did or say what everyone knows she said in the past, accept that she has never held any other stance than "Biden won and the election was fair," and trust what she says now. Good luck with that, girl.
P.S. She also said that she doesn't believe Trump "meant" for his cultists to violently attack the Capitol, and that Trump is not responsible for what they did. Sure, Jan!

(32,884 posts)Fact is that most of the ad agencies and product managers who purchase $ billions in TV advertising every year, well most of them vote R, even if they don't like Chump. They're more likely to spend their clients' money where they feel comfortable, on channels that spout the politics they approve. One hand washes the other.

(33 posts)The dear girl said that Democrats were suing in Montana to be able to vote in two states. What they are really suing for is to not be arrested for a felony if they have moved and are still REGISTERED in another state, but arent planning to vote at the previous address. One does not unregister when moving from one state to another. One simply registers in the new state. But Montana is going after young voters who register to vote in Montana while going to college there. Oops! Arrested for a felony and now afraid to vote.

(1,746 posts)Free Speech TV has been around for two decades, and isnt owned or controlled by the oligarchs. It provides a platform for Democracy Now!, Thom Hartmann, Stephanie Miller, Randi Rhodes, and other progressive programming.
It took a while for me to get used to their decidedly non-commercial format, but now Im a regular listener. The informative public service slots (ex. Robert Reich) they provide in place of annoying commercials are a welcome change.
I dont feel pressured by their fundraising drives, because I became a monthly contributor last year. The pittance I can afford makes me feel like a valued member of a community supporting my own values, whereas corporate media commercials clamor for my money to fatten the wallets of oligarchs so they can buy corrupt, anti-democracy politicians. Just sayin.

(6,452 posts)listen to DemocracyNow!. I have a hard time with their allegiance to Code Pink and the Green Party (or at least their spokespeople).
edited to add...
I also used to pay attention to Glenn Greenwald and Matt Taibbi. I dropped those guys too. Some of the people i once thought were iconic progressives have become utter turncoats. Cornell West is a good example too.

(1,746 posts)The others you mentioned never appear on my favorite programs, and Id be surprised if theyre given air time on Democracy Now! Matt Taibbi in particular, has been dead to me for ages.
Nevertheless, nothing is perfect. FSTV is light years from corporate media. Like DU, they provide a much needed service and refuge in these dark days.
