they can go from the first inklings of irregularities to sentencing in under 2 years. And yet, TFG is still out loose, committing all sorts of crimes for the past 8+ years, and, due to the pernicious normalcy bias of our systems, is still dancing footloose and fancy free?

(57,461 posts)Bankman will use his energy appealing. TFG will have no grounds for appeal, he resolved those issues in pretrial motions he lost.
TFG said his bonds are unfair and unprecedented. Bankmans are six times what TFG's are.

(15,700 posts)1) the crimes and circumstances are vastly different
2) SBF had no claims of Executive Privilege or Attorney Client privilege (involving dozens of lawyers) to enable him to delay the process.
3) SBF didnt have the good fortune of drawing judge he himself had appointed to assist in delaying the process.
Thats just for starters.

(15,700 posts)Trump would have successfully used Executive Privilege and Attorney-client privilege to out maneuver any AG or prosecutor, not just Garland or Smith.
EP was a unique delay tactic available to him, and his nearly unique circumstances where his crimes involved dozens of lawyers as either witnesses or co-conspirators gave him the ability within our existing system to delay further.
