Negative on Biden & saying that the witnesses against Trump arent credible (ex: Cohen). Now a poll that shows President Biden losing a key constituency .
Jesus FC. Why did I even tune in to MSNBC 🤬

(597 posts)There's nothing to gain from sugarcoating the truth. FOX News spoon-feeds its viewers nothing but misinformation as it relates to reality. We don't need MSNBC to do the same.

(14,162 posts)Theres an objective truth and often CNN and MSNBC act like theres two sides to an issue when, in fact, theres not. Climate change is but one example.
All Mixed Up
(597 posts)Sounds like the OP is upset that they brought legitimate questions to the table.
1. Biden very well could be losing support among Black voters. It doesn't mean all voters but with how close 2020 was, even a minority dip in support could cost him reelection. Discussing that is absolutely valid and if you don't think so, you just want a media that rubs your thigh and tells you how great everything is and how popular Biden is and there's no way he's vulnerable in November - or basically what FOX News does with Trump. Yeah, no thanks.
2. Whether you want to believe it or not, Michael Cohen isn't the most credible person. Pointing that out isn't some crazy conservative take.
So, yeah, it sure sounds like a lot of people just want MSNBC to parrot only positive talking points.

(22,038 posts)So MSNBC digs up some disgruntled blacks. That one playing pool was a real winner.

(599 posts)...they aren't going to speak to the true root causes of why some black people are interested in Trump, and it's for the same reason some white people are interested in Trump: bigotry. There are lots of black people who harbor prejudice against the folks coming through the Southern border, and there is a not small cohort of black men who feel like the Democratic Party "pushes" the "gay agenda" and Trump and his ilk seem like they're willing to harm LGBT+ people.
Throw those things in with the misbelief Trump was behind the stimulus checks and child tax credit payments they got during the pandemic and you have some black folks who might go beyond Trump-curious to Trump voters. This is part of why polls aren't as great as some people think they are because people routinely cloak what actually motivates them.
One thing Coleman said, and it's scary in its truthfulness, is some people who don't feel democracy has worked all that well for them aren't particularly moved by the argument that democracy is in danger.
I have said it before: Biden and the DNC needs to have young surrogates like Jasmine Crockett making the case for him in black media. She's brilliant and she's real. Her appearing on their behalf on The Breakfast Club or Club Shay Shay would have ten times the impact of a Kamala Harris doing the same. Not because Kamala isn't capable, but she's a different vibe and a different generation.

(8 posts)I agree with you appmanga.... I do think Alex is okay... Remember she was doing "The Circus" before coming 'back' to msnbc. I think overall she's a good reporter, but falls into the ....what about... crap sometimes. Like tonight. I like Coleman. But, I don't really understand what the beef is? What is it they want? Not him, but the black vote. What isn't Biden doing for them? Ha, like TFG would do for them. That's what is so confounding about politics. Crap like that...

(597 posts)It's absolutely a news worthy story. So, I'm not sure why you're dismissing it?
To you, it's just a few disgruntled voters but in the context of how narrow 2020 was, and how narrow 2024 might be, that could be the difference between victory and defeat.
Remember, Biden won the 2020 election essentially by 43,000 votes across just three states (Arizona, Georgia and Wisconsin).
Any dip in minority support, no matter how minor, could absolutely cost him the election.
And I find that pretty noteworthy and worthy of discussion, just as I do Trump's weaknesses, which she has focused on a lot.
It just sounds like you want MSNBC to be the media arm of the Biden campaign.
I disagree.

(15,463 posts)It's the news, not a Democratic pep rally.
It's true Cohen has credibility problems. And whether these polls showing more black support for Trump are accurate or not, that such polls exist is a fully valid story to cover.
