Lectern Gate Referred to Prosecutor by Investigators

The investigation noted that both the company and Governor Sanders refused to sit down for an interview with them to note some of the discrepancies in the billing, which included a $2,500 "consulting fee."

The report noted several violations of Arkansas law, including:

1. The podium was paid for before it was delivered.

2. It was applied to "operating expenses" which does not include equipment purchases.

3. The state agency that monitors government purchases was never notified.

4. The bill of lading was shredded by the Governor's office.

5. There were three different invoices that all appeared to conflict with each other.

Sticking this in here - as a state procurement officer, I’d say NO and not in any way put my name on this any of this in any way.

The comma before the two zeros makes it look like $19M instead of $19,200.00.

Is Beckett Events, run by Virginia Beckett. https://beckettevents.com/

This is an article from the South Arkansas Reckoning printed last October. It goes into Beckett's relationship with the Governor and the involvement of Hannah Salem Stone or Salem Strategies.

A Glimpse into the World of #Podiumgate's Virginia Beckett
Beckett's name is the only one on an invoice connected to a $19,029.25 lectern bought by Arkansas Governor Sarah Sanders' office

...snip
Still, there is no doubt that the three women are deeply connected from their days in Washington.

Stone and Salem attended and produced Sanders’ Election Night festivities in November, her January inauguration and her February response to President Joe Biden's State of the Union address.

Now, the trio are tightly tangled Podiumgate because Beckett invoiced the state of Arkansas for a $19,029.25 lectern.

All three women were also in France at the same time in June when Sanders traveled to the Paris Air Show.

I can’t imagine put my name anywhere near this without email approval or cover. Hey! Their call.

I likes my salary and I’m 10 years from retirement.
