Sleepy Don': Trump Falls Asleep (Again!) During Hush-Money Trial. Second day

Source-https://nymag.com/intelligencer/article/trump-asleep-hush-money-trial.html

snip -"While there are sketch artists present and there were some photos taken of Trump at the beginning of each day’s proceedings, there is no audio or video broadcast of the trial. So we may never see photographic evidence of Trump’s inability to keep his eyes open in court (which, in addition to being funny, is notable since he keeps insisting he’s far more spry than Biden, though they’re about the same age). It’s probably just as well; knowing Trump, he’d frame the “Sleepy Don” shot as a defiant statement against “political persecution” and start selling it on T-shirts.

The attorneys were probably terrified of Trump acting out in a criminal trial.
They had him loaded up with meds.

The meds are working way too well.
He cannot even keep his eyes open.

Lower the dose.

One day, we could blame it on him being up all night anxious and raging, but on the 2nd day he's still dozing off? I'd say his lawyers or handlers knew he had to take some kind of sedative to get him through the day. They know he cannot be controlled.

Guy cannot be controlled during a trial and people think he should be president again?

But two days in a row.

Something is up.

And I believe it is medication.

I wonder what the hell they have him on that he cannot even stay awake.

Thorazine maybe.

To get him to wake up.

Tomorrow will be interesting.

If they decrease the dosing this evening and tomorrow morning
he should look more alert, with less sleeping during the day.

But as I say, then he may start acting out.

I would hate to be the doc medicating Trump right now.

Too much medication and Trump falls asleep in the courtroom.
Not enough and Trump starts throwing hissy fits, tantrums and ends up
in the holding cells adjacent to the court room until he calms down.

Psychotropic medications are not one size fits all type meds.
The standard doses usually come in fairly wide ranges.
Because responses to the meds are so variable.

So generally you start a patient off on a low dose and titrate up until there
is a good clinical response, but it is tricky and the psychiatrist has to tinker with the meds.

So if Trump is being medicated, obviously the dose needs to be lowered.
That said maybe this is what the family and attorneys want.
Trump heavily sedated and semi-awake.

Of course he is also a ruthless sociopath and could be just putting on a little theatrical performance
for the benefit of everyone.

We should be able to figure it out in the next couple of days.

They know they HAVE to keep him under control. They also know that is not possible without chemical help. They dosed him.

The attorneys must have been desperate.

The dose needs to be lowered tomorrow.

But then he could act out.

So it is a fine line.

They should have figured this out before the trial.

Trying to titrate meds for Trump day by day at the trial is a nightmare for the prescribing doc.

for a very, very boring, long drawn-out case. After a few hours, several of the jurors were dozing. The judge, seeing this, gave his microphone some very loud taps with his fingers. It woke everyone up. I wish Merchan would do that...

I don't sleep that great and it catches up with me - especially after eating carbs. I drifted off in classes when I was in my 20s because the rooms were steam heated and I was bundled up for sub-freezing temps. I've seen lots of others (almost all men) do it - in meetings and lectures - through my whole life.

But I've never done it when I'm on trial.

Always men. I have never seen a woman do it.

I’m sure it is extremely boring at this point. Doubt he’ll sleep through Stormy’s testimony.

he was snoring so loud. They didn't ban him because he was one of their greatest supporters. He was sitting in the reading area, going thru the newspapers, and just happened to doze off! He used to take golf naps all the time, too, but at least he did them at home in his own recliner.

Of course, they run the risk of popping that bloated gas bag and having him zip all over the courtroom, emitting his foul air, like a stench-filled balloon that was blown up by Satan and then released.
