I watched this segment as Lawrence was opening his show last night. This action by TSF takes on a whole new meaning to the trial and I am confident Judge Juan Merchan will handle it according to the law. The Defense lawyers have a lot of explaining to do and Prosecutors should be steadfast in an issuance of punishment. Treat TSF like how they treat violent criminals in Italy, Russia, and elsewhere. Put him in a secluded room with guards and a TV where he can watch the proceedings with NO means in which to communicate. A plastic cup of water will be going too far.MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell took apart Donald Trumps juror intimidation through his Truth Social platform and declared that the former president appears to have violated his gag order in the hush money trial on Wednesday.
The Last Word host pointed to a post where Trump quotes Fox News Jesse Watters, who recently took to his program to go through descriptions of seven anonymous jurors who have been seated so far. They are catching undercover Liberal Activists lying to the Judge in order to get on the Trump Jury, Jesse Watters, wrote the presumptive GOP presidential nominee.
ODonnell said Watters claimed jurors have lied their way onto the jury, a message which the former president has endorsed.
Those words are the same as Donald Trump writing them himself. That was Donald Trumps choice to violate his gag order tonight, possibly in the very worst way. In fact, definitely in the worst way he has violated this gag order so far, ODonnell said.
The MSNBC host added that Trumps post serves as a severe test for Judge Juan Merchan, who expanded a limited gag order against Trump following attacks against him and his daughter.

(43,252 posts)In reality these are people doing their jobs and exercising their freedoms and civil rights. They are not obligated to kowtow to TSF Trump.

(51,623 posts)He'll never testify and if the judge throws him in jail to punish him for 24 hours tRump will play the martyr.
I'm wondering how much the boredom, stress, and being told what not to do by lawyers and judges will contribute in pushing him even closer to the edge of sanity. It isn't far off. He needs to be sedated 24/7.

There has to be some sort of punishment other than money that will get the point across that you do not mess with a Judge, Jurors who will sit in judgement of you, or anything else that will strip you of what rights you still have left. The way you beat a bully at his own game is with reversing the psychology.

(42,739 posts)Despite what folks might want and hope for, Trump's recent, including the one yesterday, comments and posts about witnesses and jurors will not result in him facing jail time. Indeed, the prosecution's motion for sanctions, which cites three statements that Trump made about Stormy Daniels and Michael Cohen, naming them expressly, does not seek jail time. It requests $1000 per statement, which is the maximum fine allowed. Moreover, even that penalty cannot be imposed summarily. The governing statute provides that summary enforcement is permitted only if the acts of contempt are "committed in the immediate view and presence of the court", which is not the case here. In order to impose sanctions in this situation, Trump must be given a reasonable time to make a defense.
Finally, the newest act that the prosecution likely will cite as another violation of the gag order, his quoting Jesse Watters slamming the jury selection process in a tweet might add another $1000 to the sanctions. It also likely will lead to the judge threatening, or possibly imposing, the provision of the gag order under which Trump's access to the names of the jurors will be revoked.
Commentators can speculate about how Trump would be imprisoned for his gag order violations until the cows come home. But its not on the table at the moment.

(50,990 posts)So when they say, "Liberal Activists lying to the Judge in order to get on the Trump Jury," that means MAGAts are lying to the judge in order to get on the jury.

(1,337 posts)since it was signed on Monday. And....crickets. Nothing will happen to him. It's starting to look to me like Merchan is just Garland 2.0. We count on him to DO SOMETHING and it repeatedly does not happen. Maybe things will change today.
