Stop Bringing Up Nazis and Hitler: Moskowitz Goes Off On Marjorie Taylor Greene In Tense HearingRep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) went off on Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) during a Wednesday hearing after the Republican congresswoman repeated her regular claim that Nazis are running around modern-day Ukraine.
Greene spoke of the controversial Azov battalion and hit back at a witness before the committee calling accusations of neo-Nazism in Ukraine a disinformation trope sourced out of Vladimir Putins Russia.
Do you see this headline? This is NBC News, said Greene at one point, holding up a prop showing the headline.
They say that Ukraines Nazi problem is real. Even if Putins denazification claim is not, so even our own American media, unless you consider NBC or Time magazine misinformation spreaders or disinformation media outlets. This is contrary to what you testified. And theres frequent pictures all over. Anybody can find them, of Nazis. Here they are. This looks like something youd see out of Hitlers Germany from Ukraine, Greene argued, holding up a photo.

He is gone now, and her hubby had it with her affairs.
So she is on her own.
And not doing at all well.

(13,544 posts)her father made his money. Did she have a hand in the business at some point?

(47,334 posts)MTG worked there and then her husband took over the business, after the father died.
MTG was a financial officer she says.
But I don't know if this was just a courtesy title or if she actually was capable
of conducting any business. She does not seem to have the ability or emotional temperament
to have any type of important job.
She started her own fitness studios, where she had multiple affairs.
So I on't know if she actually made any money, or she was like
Trump, always bailed out with daddy's money.

(13,544 posts)osteoporosis. In my late teens started taking 15-20 mg. prednisone for RA. Over the years it has been reduced and only take 2mg now. Damage done though and have had to take a medication to keep from getting full blown osteoporosis.
Osteoporosis is not fun.

(11,744 posts)In Italy (while not Nazi) the first Fascist Party affiliated prime minister was elected since Mussolini. Far RIGHT parties and factions, that are openly sympathetic to views heald by the Nazi Party in Germany are active in France, the UK, Germany, Hungary, and yes Ukraine. The reality is that Russia under Putin, is not the USSR under Stalin and the Communist Party, that opposed the Nazis during World War II. Russia under Putin is more like the far right in Germany during the rise of the Nazi Party.
Putin started the whole "Nazi" thing because he knows that it evokes negative feelings universally and harkens back to the role of the USSR in defeating the Nazis. Again, because simple minded idiots like Greene and other Conservatives fail to accept and understand that they belong to a political party (Republicans) who actually sided with the Nazis before and during the war. The America First Party was a right wing Conservative party. Politicians who were caught pushing actual 1930's and 40's propaganda at the time, were Conservatives. Prescott Bush, dad of GHW and grand dad of W Bush, continued to do business with Nazi Germany during WWII as did many American companies. Putin's actual policies look more like Hitler's racialized policies than they resemble anything from the Soviet era.
Putin counts on idiots like Greene to accept the historical lies and push out propaganda for him.
There are right wing and even pro-Nazi groups in Ukraine, just as there are those in Russia, in France, in Germany, in Hungary, and in the United States. The follow up question is, which side of the political spectrum do those groups align with and support? Which side of the political spectrum speaks most clearly to the interests of those Nazi groups. The Azov Brigade is s NATIONALIST group. They don't want Russia in Ukraine and they don't want Ukraine to exist as an ethnically diverse state either. They are willing to fight with Zolinsky to eject the Russians, but likely would then try to carve out space in Ukraine for pro Nazi ideas.
The United States fought alongside Communists in WWII to defeat Nazis and then went back to hating them again. Ukraine is doing what it has to in order to fight an illegal invasion and will reckon with its internal problems after the Russians are expelled.
We also need to expel the pro-fascist elements in our society.

(7,255 posts)That's what Putin's banging on about when he rants about Nazism. It's anything he doesn't agree with or can't make a profit out of and others outside Russia enjoy - and some within it might as well if given the freedom - and fears will sap his and Russia's precious bodily fluids.
That reply title is a faithful paraphrase from his holiness Putin's definitely-not-a-Nazi suspiciously habitually flamboyantly dressed henchpatriarch Kirill, as reported by TIME Magazine:
Citing Russian-language media, the Times reports that Kirill referred to so-called homosexual marriages as a threat to family values. When laws are detached from morality they cease being laws people can accept, he was quoted as saying, comparing such laws to those enacted in Nazi Germany.
According to the Times, the Patriarch has made similar comparisons between marriage equality and authoritarianism in the past; Kirill said in a 2016 interview with Russia Today that homosexual unions were a form of Soviet totalitarianism that threaten humanity.

So gay bad, Nazism bad, Soviet totalitarianism bad - someday maybe Kirill will get around to telling us what he does approve of.
Our collective hair may stand on end.
