"SNIP..............

“A growing number of House Republicans are accusing their conservative colleagues of enabling Democratic wins, especially after this weekend’s foreign aid votes,” Axios reports.

“Multiple members believe they could have gotten concessions from Democrats on border policy in exchange for Ukraine funding, only to be blown up by backlash from conservatives.”

Once the Republicans drove the liberals and moderates out of their party and went to a loyalty/purity party line, they ceased being a representative party and became a corporation.
A corporation trying to govern a country with this large and complex a population is nigh impossible. Russia and China get away with it because the historical and simplistic class structure where there was always a recognized ruling class, be it generational or party. Peasants where generally happy to remain peasants so long as they were left to their own devices and could take their goods to market.
The US can't, too much of an expectation of class mobility has been baked into our culture. The Republican Corporation is too busy trying to have their cake and eat it at the same time to be able to actually govern. They can't function in a democracy the way they've set their party up since the '60s.

Republicans were served a border policy bill on a silver platter, the most conservative bill in decades. Instead of celebrating and giving one another high-fives, they refused to consider the bill and went into a snit.

No complaints, no whinging. They did this to themselves. All of it.

Biden/Harris '24!

Now wah wah they complain about the border problem!

I think the border bill needs to reintroduced and have Johnson bring it o the floor for a vote. He’s already pissed off the orange menace so on his way out why not middle finger him and pass the bill in the house?
