(115,869 posts)Trump's lawyers will get to argue why they don't think a contempt order is necessary; the prosecutors will argue that it is. The judge will probably decide right after the hearing.

(94,745 posts)Prosecutor Chris Conroy said Judge Juan Merchan should sanction Donald Trump for each of the violations of the gag order.
Remember: Prosecutors want Merchan to fine Trump $1,000 per violation and to remind him that future violations of this Courts restrictions on his extrajudicial statements can be punished not only with additional fines but also with a term of incarceration of up to thirty days.

(94,745 posts)"This is a very troubling post," Conroy says.
"I think the link to the jurors in this case in this proceedings is very clearly a violation of the order," he adds.
Conroy says the day after the post, a juror was excused after saying she was no longer comfortable serving on the jury. "What happened here is precisely what this order was designed to prevent, and this defendant doesnt care," Conroy said.

(94,745 posts)Theres no indication, Conroy added, that Trump's claim hes responding to attacks is "anything more than an after-the-fact justification."

(94,745 posts)Trump who was watching Merchan whipped his head quickly to Bove to say something after the exchange.
"What I do see is, I keep asking you over and over again for a specific answer, and Im not getting an answer," Merchan said to Blanche.

Since Trump believes whatever he wants, this doesn't seem to achieve anything.
