Justice Merchan Denies Trump's Motion To Subpoena Stormy Daniels

This evening, Justice Merchan, the judge overseeing Donald Trump's election interference trial in New York City, has denied Trump's motion to subpoena Stormy Daniels seeking to acquire documents related to her personal documentary. Last month, leading up to Trump's criminal trial, Trump issued a subpoena to Stormy Daniels asking her to produce all materials related to her documentary and communications between herself, Michael Cohen, and several others.

Justice Merchan wrote that the requests submitted by Trump were extremely over broad and improper under New York law. Despite attempts by Trump's attorneys to get access to these documents, they were unable to establish that the document requests were sufficiently limited in scope such that they were applicable to the criminal case.
