Its not lost on me that people protesting chose to show up for a foreign conflict and not civil rights, womens rights, LGBTQ+ rights, or really anything that directly impacts their lives and the lives of people around them.

(24,890 posts)It is easy to say spend equally in energy to all causes but not feasible.
International videos of explosions and destroyed blocks of buildings and screaming or, dead, silent kids gets more instant emotions flowing than spread out suffering from legal malfeasance in one nation.
And there is nothing that says that some protestors are so free from time constraints that they aren't doing things supporting all of the worthy causes. Most people are not one trick ponies BUT people often trend to the immediate issues to act on.
So no I don't think it is a really good point.

The young women carrying out these protests are 2nd class citizens in this country, right now. Women are literally bleeding in ER parking lots because they cannot get health care.
