To his credit - Joe tried to stop him but Heilman verbally rode over him. That is just not done - Hitler is not quoted on air. Reprehensible.

(5,843 posts)He seems to me to be a normally thoughtful contributor. Also, I think it is fine to quote Hitler when comparing things he said to things other politicians are currently saying.

(12,449 posts)and what Heilman quoted Hitler as saying is that war is like walking into a dark room, you don't know what's going on until the lights are turned on, which is a pretty apt description of war.
I, myself, didn't find anything offensive about Heilman saying that.
Doesn't change the fact that Hitler was a murdering monster.
Stalin is quoted from time to time and he was just as murderous as Hitler was. Just went about in a different way.

Sorry. Its not been done in my entire life. He nearly destroyed civilization. As I said, even Joe got upset. Its antithetical to decency.
