Getting a sick feeling

The conservative justices are going to give Trump immunity.
That would destroy the country. We are likely in our last days as a free republic and it was TSF that has somehow managed to do it.

Honestly, if the only way to beat Trump is to get him locked up, we're boned as a country anyway.

But fortunately, we the voters will still have a say this November. Beat him again and move to the trial.

immunity? Why would you think any individual having absolute immunity in a representative republic? At best that sets up a benevolent dictatorship ..... at worst ??????

Say, remove some Supreme Court justices or refuse to step down to protect democracy

Not saying Biden would act on it, but the court will not give immunity to just any president. This is for Trump, and they know there will be no Democrats after that.

...whether they send the case back to the trial court to make the trial court make an affirmative ruling using a brand new test of immunity.

Worst case scenario there is the judge will make that finding (i.e. yes, Trump isn't immune), Trump appeals, and it further delays the case.

Hopefully they'll just end it right now. But you know this Court...
