Something about opening the door to “bitter political rivals” throwing their opponents in jail after an election rather then letting them retire gracefully. What a bald face mischaracterization of the situation tRump finds himself in. There is no “bitter political rival” going after him. He has a life long history of ignoring and breaking the law; his past is finally catching up to him. Let the courts decide if he has broken the law, and what his punishment should be.

This is classic MAGA misdirection. The logic goes: Donald Trump is a great man, an honest man, a man of integrity, so if he is being accused of crimes and brought to trial it HAS to be a conspiracy against him, regardless of the evidence. This attempt to grant immunity is pure tRump logic; he can do no wrong, so he can’t be held accountable.

Finally, since Alito himself brought it up; tRump is NOT gracefully retiring, he’s once again seeking the highest office in the land, after all his crimes, after encouraging and probably planning a coup to throw out the results of a fair election, and he wants to do so via Supreme Court decree that everything he’s done is protected by presidential immunity.

Shove your concern up your ass, Alito. No one is above the law, least of all a criminal traitor. A president should be held to a higher standard, not emboldened to abuse the power of the office.
