Is going to kick the immunity case back down to go through the lower courts again, this ensuring the trial will not happen before the election, if ever.

At some point, this case will be tried, and he will be convicted. The only way hell escape is if he dies before he can be tried.

(547 posts)If SCOTUS kicks it back to Chutkin she can say "Hey, this is a serious matter, to determine what are presidential actions and what are personal actions. I am going to hold a hearing and hear what the witnesses have to say."
In other words, a hearing will result in all the evidence that Trump Does Not want to see exposed to the light of day being exposed. It will serve as a trial de facto!!!!
Bring it on!

The Supreme Court appeared ready to reject former President Donald Trumps claims of sweeping immunity and the broad protections he has sought to shut down his federal election subversion case, but also reluctant to give special counsel Jack Smith carte blanche to pursue those charges.
After nearly three hours of oral arguments, several of the justices seemed willing to embrace a result that could jeopardize the ability to hold a trial before the November election.
