"SNIP............

“The Federal Communications Commission on Thursday voted to restore ‘net neutrality’ rules that prevent broadband internet providers such as Comcast and Verizon from favoring some sites and apps over others,” the AP reports.

“The move effectively reinstates a net neutrality order the commission first issued in 2015 during the Obama administration. In 2017, under then-President Donald Trump, the FCC repealed those rules.”

Hooray!

Plenty of evidence shows that in the past some of the big ISPs 1) censored content (back during the Iraq War a number of us subscribed to newsletters that were never delivered to us) and 2) gave advantage to big players so their content loaded faster and otherwise made a noncompetitive environment for small players.

American ingenuity needs a fair playing field to encourage innovation and prosperity that is broadly based.
