Transgender woman brutally beaten to death outside Miami City Ballet
The man accused in the brutal beating death of a transgender woman in Miami Beach made his first appearance before a judge on Thursday as family members are seeking answers in her killing.
Gregory Fitzgerald Gibert, 53, is facing a second-degree murder charge in the killing of 37-year-old Andrea Dorias Dos Passos, whose body was found Tuesday near the Miami City Ballet.

... it's because she's transgender, but the story doesn't confirm. In any case, these stories always stun me by revealing how evil humans can act.
