Uvalde Parent Obliterates Police Response to Texas University Protest

Uvalde parent Brett Cross has some words for Texas police, after their brutal crackdown on Texas university students protesting against Israel’s war in Gaza.

At the University of Texas at Austin Wednesday, more than 100 troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) showed up in full riot gear and military fatigues. They were deployed “at the direction of Texas Governor Greg Abbott, in order to prevent any unlawful assembly,” according to a statement sent to The Texas Tribune.

The response caught the attention of Cross, a parent of one of the children shot and killed at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, in May 2022.

“Shit, if only they’d have moved like that when my son was being murdered,” Cross commented on X (formerly Twitter). “But what do I expect….1 AR-15 keeps 376 officers at bay.”

And, they serve the powerful, conservative beasts of the status quo who don’t give a rat’s ass about our rights and common welfare.

A lot of people seem to keep forgetting this. I know that they added some other civic duties into their practices, but they were created to keep businesses safe from thieves. Once the practice of not living above your own business became the norm, they were a necessity in some cities.

Cops are brave when the opponents aren't armed or don't out "arm" the police.

Good video of the 1968 Chicago Democratic Convention for those who weren't around to experience it.
BTW, the 2024 Democratic Convention is in CHICAGO this year. Get your recliners and popcorn ready?

"Palestinians" started their protests. They have been planning for a long time.

A close friend of mine is a delegate. I hope she will be all right.

Uvalde was a disgrace. And also an outlier.
We've seen many other shootings where the cops ran straight into the situation.

And as long as there is a “Texas law enforcement” then Uvalde should always hang over their heads.

Three makes a crowd, right?

So what do you call 376 people standing around doing nothing (esp. while kids are getting gunned down)?

A lump.

I might Urban Dictionary this later.

You won't hear me defend them. As far as I'm concerned, they were a mob of leaderless, gutless jackasses who stood by and allowed the murder of children. That's utterly contemptible.

You will hear me defend law enforcement when I feel like it's warranted, though, because I live in the real world and there's nuance here. It's not as simple as "all cops are bastards" and "bLuE mAn BaD" and I have no patience for that nonsense. Most of the people saying things like that have absolutely zero knowledge about law enforcement and, even worse, have absolutely zero interest in correcting that ignorance. It's all noise and no signal, never mind a ratio.
