It's a great interview btw.
Say what you want about Stern but he's not the one from the 1990s and his interviews are great. Check out interviews he did with Carol Burnett, Dolly Parton and Barbara Streisand.

the "live" interview is much preferable to the written interview which would be larded with the reporter's snarky comments on Biden's age, necktie, stammer, etc. also in written interviews there is much opportunity for distortion in paraphrase. (though live interviews when recorded can be edited, of course.) Joyce Carol Oates
