Jack Smith Put 1 Egg In 2 Baskets

Jack Smith only indicted Donald Trump, he did so to pare down his prosecution so that he could get Trump to trial pre-election.

Smith named numerous co-conspirators but did not indict them.

Did Smith underestimate the evil of the 6 members on the SC? This court isn't just ruling on Trump's immunity, it is ruling on whether an insurrection impeded an official act of Congress.

Jack Smith and Merrick Garland have indicted 1 coup plotter in 40 months. Oh yeah the heads of the "militias" were indicted.

Arizona, Michigan, Georgia AG's have indicted many co-conspirators, but the Feds have not. Was it a mistake or won't it matter? Will this evil Supreme Court cover for co-conspirators also?

GOTV - we need to overwhelm them at the ballot box because this will not be a fair election.

Oh yeah, the FBI confiscated Scott Perry's phone, but it gave it back.

if he can take tsf down, the rest fall.
if he starts by taking them down, it doesnt make it a slamdunk to take out tsf.
taking out those who led the violence, proving that conspiracy, is all he needs to do win this case.

if cheato is convicted, i believe most of the magats will just plead out. any that take it to trial will show the abject folly of their thuggery.

are carrying on with the insurrection. Mark Meadows was given immunity to testify in a ghost trial.

This has never been about evidence, the evidence is out in the open. I could convict Trump for his theft of top secret classified documents. This has always been about time.

Fani Willis was rolling along until they railroaded her. I'm impressed with Dana Nessel, she is tough, I think she will nail some people.

I must admit that I underestimated the fascist members of the Supreme Court, I think Jack Smith did too. The Supreme Court can throw sand in the gears of a lot of prosecutions.

As I said, any SCOTUS ruling on the obstruction of an official proceeding statute may rescue some of those who attacked the Capitol, but not those in Trump’s inner circle who helped plot the coup.

Congressional Magats should be prosecuted. Bob Menendez is being prosecuted.

If Barry Loudermilk can give a Capitol tour to insurrectionists who took pictures of stairways and tunnels and no one from the FBI even talked to him. Yeah Capitol police talked to him which was a nothingburger.

When Scott Perry is indicted I will change my belief that Congressional Magats have immunity.

States involve state crimes. The the DOJ involves federal crimes; it hold co-conspirators as liable as those named in federal indictments and convictions. Co-conspirators label compels a test of the courts in applying laws across multiple defendants. IMO

another insurrection no matter who wins. If Garland won’t grow a spine and the courts tie Smiths arms and we have a SCOTUS who is willing to look the other way we are LOST before we vote. It seems that
the courts have all been stacked against democracy.

If we don’t soundly beat them and jail the perps then it’s all over.

22. When Ford pardoned Nixon
Sun Apr 28, 2024, 02:08 PM
Apr 28

and we were outraged we were told "You don't understand. This is needed to allow the country to heal." The media inundated the country with that message for months. Plain folks who never voiced that view of Nixon and his crimes before the pardon now suddenly started to repeat the "mantra".

We were outraged because we knew the crookedness and crimes of Nixon before even Watergate. We were outraged because we knew the crooked set-up that put in place the pieces to make the pardon happen. We knew Gerald Ford was chosen for a reason.

We knew when the pardon happened that letting a President off the hook legally for his many crimes would come back to hurt the country another day. The media kept telling us the country was "healing" and we should "move on". But we knew that the things done by Nixon from his first days in office were a cancer to our country. We knew that healing the surface doesn't mean the cancer has gone away and will not come back and spread.

So now here we are. Now we are hoping that a crooked Supreme Court will stop being crooked for just a little while and do something for the good of the country. 6 justices who got their seats by being pushed by crooked money so as to protect more crooked conduct. 6 justices who got their seats after having raised their hands and swearing to tell the truth and then proceeding to tell lie after lie.

So what will be the new pablum? The new mantra? Will it be "The enforcement people were doing all they could"? Will it be "You don't understand"?

Maybe our media and naysayers need to realize that we who are outraged about the handling of this "understand" very well how we got here and we see the clear lineage of Watergate through Iran-Contra and through 1/6 and we see what comes of allowing the head of the snake to slither away by delay, obfuscation and creation of excuses by crooked people in power.

Make no mistake about it. The country is hanging by a thread now because of what we didn't do then. The crooked 6 are getting ready to put in place the basis for a President to order out loyal troops to complete a coup the next time. All with no legal recourse. They are dangling the ability of a President to defy even the SC itself and leave the people with no legal recourse. They are poised to be removing legal remedies for a President who would suspend elections.

This has never been a thing to have "patience" with because that would imply that the ones being pursued will somehow be "chastened" in the end by the process and results and "sin no more". Glasses with that much rose coloring wouldn't even let in a speck of daylight. These people are never ending in their planning and the "patience" shown is exactly the path for the delay they seek in order to plan and execute their evasions for past acts and for planning more acts going forward.

It goes like this:
Everything is fine.
You don't know what is going on behind the scenes.
This is exactly how it is supposed to work.
Garland is a busy little bee and has been since the start. Emptywheel says so!! And look at all the phones he took!
Trust Garland.
All will be well.
It's not a Law and Order episode!!1!1

And that will lead us right into a loss of our Democracy.

23. I'm about to lose all confidence . . .
Sun Apr 28, 2024, 02:17 PM
Apr 28

. . . in just about our whole system

I soldiered for 30 years, including serving in the bush in Vietnam. I put kids in body bags who did not hesitate to expose themselves to gunfire to save their buddies. And now I'm looking at a wimpy US Attorney General who is afraid of being too political. JESUSFUCKINGCHRIST, AG Garland -- it doesn't matter what you do, you will be attacked. YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE THE RIGHT THING TWO YEARS AGO. Goddam, I'm glad Garland was not in my platoon . . . fucking coward.

And don't get me started on the goddam Supreme Court. I had a 2-year tour at the Pentagon where I was in an office with a vigorous public relations effort. I spent two years flying here and there speaking to veterans' groups, retired military, Rotary Clubs -- you name it. Many of them gave me little mementoes -- a cap, a T-shirt, a pen and pencil set, a plaque. When I returned to the Pentagon, I had to turn in any gift I received to the Dept of Defense General Counsel Office with an explanation of what the gift was, who gave it to me, etc. They then had to okay my keeping a baseball cap -- so it was clear I was not taking a bribe.

Yet we now have Supreme Court justices enjoying expensive fishing trips, "loans" to by a luxury RV, and on and on and on. And not a fucking word is said about it. Why did I -- I little unimportant colonel -- have to account for a goddam T-shirt when they get RVs, loans, their wives try to overturn an election, and God only knows what else AND NO ONE DOES ANYTHING ABOUT IT?

OH, and I forgot -- the three latest addition so the so-called "Supreme" Court who lied in their confirmation hearings -- "Oh, yes, Senator, Roe v. Wade is settled law, cross my heart, I swear." One is a fool, one is a drunk, and the third is a holyroller who speaks in tongues. What a fucking joke.

I'm 79 . . . and this is the pile of shit I'm leaving for my grandsons.

and I do think it involves causing enough havoc that they can get it to their Crooked 6 so they can throw it to the House or do another "one off" like they did in Bush v Gore. I firmly believe that from this point forward for many elections to come they know they can't win by votes both popular and electoral and so they are attacking the machinery and the personnel in order to get people in place to "see it their way" and not certify votes or throw out ballots.
