How many people vetted this book? How many editors, how many political advisors, family members, colleagues? The fact that these stories remained (nevermind the horror and cruelty of the deeds) after all of those people read the book shows the ingrained, systemic, and, the very worst part, casual cruelty of their party. Just ask Mitt’s pooch, or the Huckabee’s dog.

Was the dog nipping with affection? Or trying to bite to injure? There is a big difference. My grand dog would nip/pinch my belly just about every time I went to walk her. I would tell her no every time, but I took it to mean she was glad to see me. Nobody would have killed her for that.

Sun Apr 28, 2024, 05:15 PM
Apr 28

He was a 10 month old lab mix we got as a rescue. His previous owner let him gnaw on people's hands when they played. The problem was the puppy did it to everyone he liked.

So, instead of shooting him, I yelped everytime he tried to bite my hands. He stopped biting in about a week and grew to be a very sweet dog.

He just didn't know biting hurt. The yelping made him realize he was hurting me by biting my hands. When puppies play they have to be taught their limits so they don't hurt you or others.

She killed the dog because Cricket didn't do what she wanted the dog to do and she was too stupid to verify Cricket had the temperament to be trained to be a hunting dog before she got it - or too stupid to train it properly.
I wouldn't doubt she got it from a puppy mill or backyard breeder, instead of from someone who actually bred or raised hunting dogs for sale.
She killed Cricket because the dog was basically a house pet instead of a tool like her gunz, and she just doesn't do care and affection well at all. I feel sorry for her kids; she's the type to raise them as if she'd have no problems with the biblical dictate to kill or sell ones disobedient children if they don't live up to her rules - it's just that in the here and now, that's illegal.

Kristi Noem’s Killing Of Her Puppy Slammed Across Parties—And Mocked At Correspondents’ Dinner

=============

S.E. Cupp, another Republican pundit who also hunts with dogs, pointed out that “there are 592 other things you can do with a dog that won't hunt besides kill it in front of your kid and construction workers.”

The night before, comedian Matt Friend mocked Noem in Trump’s voice at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, saying he was “killing this dinner harder than Kristi Noem kills the puppies”—drawing gasps from the crowd in Washington.

Ryan Busse, a Democratic gubernatorial candidate in Montana, criticized Noem as a hunting dog owner on social media, writing “anyone who has ever owned a birddog knows how disgusting, lazy and evil this is.”

“Our message is plain and simple: If you want elected officials who don’t brag about brutally killing their pets as part of their self-promotional book tour, then listen to our owners – and vote Democrat,” the Democratic National Committee said in a statement in the voice of their dogs on Friday, also pointing out Noem’s past controversial position on forcing child rape victims to carry pregnancies to term.

The fact that it's legal in SD to shoot dogs who kill livestock doesn't absolve her. The dog, who was still just a puppy, killed a few chickens and nipped at her, so Noem shot her - only because that was more convenient than training her or finding a new home for her. It demonstrates that to her the dog was nothing more than an object that had malfunctioned, and therefore could be disposed of like a faulty machine. Twenty years later she bragged about it in order to look tough (and maybe impress Trump enough with her casual cruelty that he'd choose her as his running mate). There are plenty of other terrible people for Trump to choose from, but I hope this takes her off the list.

This is just b.s.

She didn't know how to/didn't bother to train a hunting dog puppy, lost her temper when the puppy misbehaved, dragged it to a gravel pit and shot it, then bragged about it.

Then, her blood lust aroused, she killed a goat because it had an attitude. She could have neutered the goat and solved the behavior problem but it was a lot more fun to kill it.

She sounds like a cruel, incompetent moron.

You don’t shoot a pet because you hate it. You have other options. You work with it. You get training. You find another, more suitable home for it.

What she is admitting here (giving her the most possible benefit of the doubt that I can muster) is that she faced a problem with a dog and she “solved” that problem using violence. Is that the way she solves every problem she faces?

Did I mention that I hate this bitch for hurting that dog? No amount of apologizing of explaining could ever be enough.

First, the puppy was killing chickens.

Now it was biting people.

I think she was tired of dealing with a puppy so she shot it and made up an excuse.

Why write about it at all -- and include the story about wounding the goat, going back to the truck to get some more bullets, then killing the goat? Because she knows her audience -- the MAGAts will celebrate her dedication to the Sacred Second Amendment.

If leading yout state through covid means denying it was a real problem and refusing to take sensible actions like quarantining and mask mandates, then I guess that was some real fine leadin' you did there, Kristi.

Problem is, a lot of us have a very different definition of "leadership."

She first said something like the dog wasn't learning to be a good pointer for hunting so it was worthless,
now it's because it was biting people. If that was truly the case she would have said so in the book.

In the book, Noem also writes that her family also owned a "nasty and mean" male goat that smelled bad and liked to chase her kids. She decided to go ahead and kill the goat, too. She writes that the goat survived the first shot, so she went back to the truck, got another shell, then shot him again, killing him.

get him neutered, which was THEIR responsibility. He was chasing her kids? He should have been kept in a locked pen. Again, their responsibility.

As for the young dog, the decision to kill it was not a "tough decision" to be admired. It was rash. The dog could have been rehomed.

right Kristi? Also, who cares how old the story is? Makes her sound insane: “Bring back the days when you could tell the world you were a puppy killer and no libtards fainted.” 🙄 And then, the bit about the dog’s aggression toward people! Perhaps if the dog had been raised with love instead of as disposable farm equipment it wouldn’t have been aggressive. Telling on herself a thousand ways ‘til Tuesday.

It's in your book, sweetie.

Your newly released book.

Idiot.

And even if you can spin Cricket's murder, you still have to justify killing that goat. It comes across like a "killing spree" that you had to hide because your kids were getting off the bus and some workers on site saw you. Psycho!

Incredibly, Noem’s tale of slaughter is not finished.

Her family, she writes, also owned a male goat that was “nasty and mean”, because it had not been castrated. Furthermore, the goat smelled “disgusting, musky, rancid” and “loved to chase” Noem’s children, knocking them down and ruining their clothes.

Noem decided to kill the unnamed goat the same way she had just killed Cricket the dog. But though she “dragged him to a gravel pit”, the goat jumped as she shot and therefore survived the wound. Noem says she went back to her truck, retrieved another shell, then “hurried back to the gravel pit and put him down”.

At that point, Noem writes, she realised a construction crew had watched her kill both animals. The startled workers swiftly got back to work, she writes, only for a school bus to arrive and drop off Noem’s children.
