George Takei: We must fight to keep the monsters out.

Tweet from yesterday that I didn't see till today:

George Takei
@GeorgeTakei

Let’s be clear. The monsters are everywhere now in the GOP. From Trump the rapist, to gravel pit governors like Noem, to ghouls in statehouses with their total abortion bans, to the literal Nazis marching in West Virginia today.

We must fight to keep the monsters out.

That the Trumpites can't claim it was rigged. We need to vote in every state, no matter how red it might be (Alabama, I'm looking at you!).....

because that's what they're doing -right now-... rigging it so they will win. If they don't, then the only way they'll see the loss is that we were better at rigging it than they were. Never mind the truth. I see really bad days coming in November. I know I will NOT accept a trump win, seeing what the scotus and other courts are doing right now to voting rights, and seeing how they're rigging the state election boards. I don't think I'll be alone. And you know, if they lose, the magas will be out with their guns this time. Nope, I thought this morning it's important to enjoy what I can and how I can between now and November. After that, life will change for the worse. Who wins will simply determine for how long the terror will last.

Honestly there is nothing that will (the ones I personally know) convince them Biden won the last election and certainly not the next election.

But there is still part of me that simply can't believe this is happening in my country. Or at least the country I thought i knew . I always thought the principle of democracy and the importance of citizens voting and having an important say in government was the foundation of our nation. I realize now I was wrong. We seem to be floundering. What is important and what isn't. What do we stand for? Do we stand for anything as a nation? But George is right, the monsters are here. We have to fight to push the monsters out and keep them out. What we used to stand for was important. Actually, more than important. It was about decency and caring for our fellow Americans as well as those yet to come. We used to stand for something. Or at least I thought we did.

their desire for spiritual warfare, and that we are not merely mistaken in our beliefs or sinful, rather we (dems) are actual demons to be vanquished by the full forceof divine wrath. Wow, spot on from where I sit. The article also speaks about the religious mobilization behind Jan 6, which was downplayed by the committee, and specifically Liz Cheney. It was and eye opener, and rang true in my gut. These Magats are not bo be resoned with.

The monsters are out on Maple Street. I know he had a different sort of monster in mind then, but there is still truth for today.

6. Doing what we can in my little Indivisible group.
Sun Apr 28, 2024, 09:29 PM

- Zoom call for planning and strategizing, every Monday evening
- Daily Call-to-Action email that we put together every weekend, for distribution on Tuesdays
- Busy intersection where we do an hour of signholding every Saturday
- Planning for walking neighborhoods and knocking on doors as campaign season heats up
- Discussing & planning Congressmember meetings
- Discussing what other local groups, both Indivisible and just regular Democratic Party folks, are planning and doing
- Discussion and assigning local Letters to the Editor and what subjects to write about
- Sharing a little gossip when available, and discussing if there’s some little thing in there that we can use. What we want to do with/for/if/about/against it, and if it seems like a good idea or is/is not worth it.

And more!

That’s just off the top of my head.

And I’m sure I’m forgetting something. But I know stuff will start heating up as THIS election year starts to suck all the oxygen out of the room.

Hey Fox news, where's the reporting of the "cowards behind masks?"

Oh wait, are you guys in the march with them?
